Tatu (My own side of the movie)
We don come back again oh!!! ***Drum roll****
I really was expectant to see this movie.. the
trailer thrilled me. I just knew somewhere in my heart that it would be different.
Tatu merged a little of city life and loads of village
life. Tatu was a young girl that had a very deep tattoo on her chest (I
honestly didn’t see the connection between Tatu and tattoo until my friend
guessed that the typical Nigerian movie may revolve around the tattoo that she
had. I corrected him that the spelling wasn’t the same. Last, last, she had a
tattoo lol.. Nollywood no dey fall hand.. hehehe).
Main koko of the movie:
Ehm.. where do I even start from sef? Yes the movie
was sweet like that.. lol.
So there is this girl named Tatu that grew up in
convent (or something like that). She was a nun in training, but to be a nun no
dey her blood at all. She used to sneak out in the night to go to clubs just to
chill and relax. She was the strong, independent type who wasn’t scared of
anyone. Then there was this guy Wale, a music producer who was on top of her
matter (this means Wale wanted to date or sleep with her, one of them sha). Wale
is that kind of man that can chase a woman without giving her space at all. Tatu
wasn’t interested in him, all she wanted was in to chill in the club. Wale seemed unserious, but he endedup being a good lover, stayed with Tatu, through it all, in a funny way sha lol.

Hiiii.. My name is Tatu.. How's you?? |
p. s I am tempted to give you guys the full gist,
because I loved the movie, but I won’t. *tongue out*
Let’s flash back a little.. Apparently, Tatu’s mother
gave her out to a Revd father after few months of her birth, because by
tradition (or the chief priest's desire), at the age of 21, she (Tatu) was to be killed or sacrificed, she was
like the saviour of her village. She also had a man, who was the one to look
after her, he would also be killed along-side her, like her escort sha. Tatu’s
mother didn’t want this, she believed that the God of the Revd Father was
stronger than the gods of her land.
Tatu began to question her past and background which
got her into a lot of trouble. Was she sacrificed at last? What happened to her
and Wale? Did she reunite with her mother after so long? You would have to see
the movie to find out.
Personal Rating:
I will rate this movie 7/10. I appreciate the script
writer’s talent. Unlike My wife and I, the scenes were not boring, I loved its
flow. Also the actor Wale.. I heard he is an Afolayan. That boy is fine mehn! Fine
and Funny!! His comic character got me laughing so much that at a point, I
found myself kneeling and laughing. Pathetic uhn? Wale really did perfect his role well.
The actors were very okay too.. I didn’t know that that alakaada lady can act something serious lol (Tatu’s mother). The main character, Tatu, seems to be a new face and a breath of fresh air.

But I had an issue with the scarves that the nuns-in-training
wore. Do nuns-to-be wear ijhab? Because what they wore looked like ijhab ooooo.
Why was the head of Tatu’s school dressed like a mini masquerade?
Wasn’t she supposed to be a nun? Whoever handled the costumes for this movie
tried, but should have just left the simple things simple! Abeg!
Tatu’s ‘escort’ that guy was just dancing abi twisting
his body too much. At some point I felt he was over acting. But he has a nice
body sha, so that covered up for his sins. Hehehe

So this escort fine like this in real life. Maybe the costume person is cool after all |
The sex scene horrified me. Not like it was that deep.
At the time she had sex with Wale, she wasn’t even 21 yet. But I guess that’s real
life. Let me not complain, before they say I am naïve.
Have you seen the movie? Please share your thoughts.
If you haven’t, I hope I made you decide to.. hurry!! It will be leaving the
